WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Are you ready to don your cape as a Maintenance Engineer and join our stellar Engineering Team at the Renaissance? This position guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week at $24 per hour.

Welcome to the world of preventative maintenance—an art form that keeps the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel in top-notch condition! Our Maintenance Engineers are the champions responsible for maintaining the entire hotel, including its outer spaces. They swoop in to tackle any guest concerns and make sure our hotel is in tip top shape inside and out!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
Some of the key responsibilities of our Shift Engineer include:
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
• Master the art of window-washing, wall-scrubbing, and ceilings to reveal the hidden glow of our interiors.
• Show trash cans and waste containers who's boss—empty them with flair!
• Mop, sweep, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs with style—making our pathways gleam with brilliance!
• It's a snow and ice show! Defeat winter by clearing walkways and parking areas with your ice-blasting expertise!
• Mow through grassy areas, tending our grounds to keep them lush and lively.
• Vanquish germs! Sanitize and disinfect washrooms and fixtures to maintain their gleaming sheen.
• Make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Be a painting Picasso and a drywall Da Vinci—take on maintenance artistry!
• Channel your inner green thumb—nurture our plants and water them.
• Lift, move, and shift heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as if they're feathers—showing off your superhero strength!
• Guard our fortress! Ensure security and safety measures are in place to protect all inhabitants.
• Plumbing problems? Electrical issues? You're our superhero—save the day by fixing hardware, unclogging drains, repairing lamps, and programming TV's!
• Tackle all hardware, plumbing, and electrical glitches in public areas—showing them who's boss!
• Emergency superhero alert! Monitor and handle fire alarm and safety systems like a pro to save the day during emergencies.
• Energy conservation warrior! Keep an eye on energy usage and report conservation ideas to Engineering Management—saving the planet, one watt at a time!
• Master your tools—clean, maintain, and protect them like they're your sidekick arsenal, always ready for action.
• Be our beacon in emergencies! Protect guests and associates, ensuring the building and its systems remain intact and swiftly return to their prime state.
• Safety first, superheroes! Keep an eye out for hazardous conditions and correct them on the spot to ensure a safe environment for all!

Education and Experience
• A high school diploma and a recognized trade certificate or multiple certifications
• Priority given to candidates with previous hotel or building maintenance experience—your past adventures matter!
• Show off your skills in Electronic Systems, Carpentry, Kitchen Equipment, Energy Conservation, and General Building Maintenance—your diverse knowledge will be your power-ups!
