Director, Infrastructure Project Delivery
Description
Reporting to the Vice President, Infrastructure, Facilities and Airside Operations, the Director, Infrastructure Project Delivery is a key member of the YEG organization, responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of Edmonton Airports' capital infrastructure program. This includes overseeing the full project lifecycle from initiation and permitting through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
The Director ensures capital projects are aligned with organizational strategy, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. This role drives a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused project delivery environment that emphasizes innovation, cost-effectiveness, and operational integration.

Strategic Leadership
Facilitate capital program planning with a focus on prioritization, cost control, and optimal resource allocation.
Maintain strong external relationships to remain informed of airport infrastructure trends and best practices.
Identify, develop, and continuously improve work processes, standards, and procedures to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
Integrate sustainability and resilience principles into project planning and execution, ensuring long-term value, environmental stewardship, and alignment with YEG’s strategic priorities.
Project Delivery Leadership
Lead the full lifecycle of capital improvement projects (CIP) across airport infrastructure, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close out, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Ensure cross-functional integration and alignment with other departments throughout project planning and implementation.
Oversee budget development, cost control, contractor/consultant agreements, invoice approvals, and financial reporting—delivering fiscal accountability aligned with capital program objectives.
Coordinate cross functional relationships across departments, airlines, tenants, and external agencies to integrate planning and execution and minimize operational disruption during construction.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, permitting, and safety requirements, aligning project delivery with federal, provincial, and municipal standards while balancing the needs of internal partners, tenants, airlines, and external partners.
People Leadership
Develop and lead a high-performing team of professionals, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and delivery expectations.
Establish and monitor performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives across the Project Delivery team.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence in execution.
Act as a senior ambassador for Edmonton Airports, building and maintaining trusted relationships with community partners, industry partners, and government agencies to advance strategic initiatives and enhance organizational reputation.
Special Requirements
Experience
10+ years of progressive leadership experience with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing, multifunctional teams.
7+ years of direct accountability for large-scale capital projects ($50M+), demonstrating success in the planning and delivery of diverse and complex infrastructure programs.
Proven experience operating in a fast-paced, private-sector project delivery environment (e.g., EPC, general contractor, developer); ability to adapt best practices into an airport context.
Demonstrated strength in executive and board-level reporting, community/partner relations,, with the ability to tailor communications across diverse audiences—from frontline trades to executive leadership.
Related experience in an airport, aviation, or other regulated infrastructure environment is considered an asset.
Education
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
Project Management education and certification (PMP, PgMP, or equivalent) required.
MBA or Advanced Degree in business, engineering, or management is considered an asset, reflecting both technical and strategic leadership capability.
