Plumber - 12 month term
Description
As the Plumber, you will be responsible for carrying out the maintenance, repairs, installations and inspections of the plumbing and fire protection systems at Edmonton International Airport and its satellite airports, including potable water, sewer disposal systems, fire protection systems, gas fired equipment and various HVAC systems. The role will also include response to short notice emergencies and other duties as required. Required to work Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day. Requirement for after-hours standby coverage on a rotational basis and overtime as operationally needed.

Provide input of the Facilities Maintenance plans and directions and ensure on-going appropriate relationships with other positions.
Ensure the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics to limit the downtime in our facilities.
Execute preventative maintenance duties and repairs, in accordance with the CMMS work plan.
Perform accurate and timely administrative functions that include CMMS recording, materials inventories, and work order forms.
Troubleshoots and diagnose equipment failures efficiently and accurately to repair as necessary.
Liaises with Electricians, HVAC technicians, contractors, other trade disciplines, and internal/external stakeholders to provide technical expertise on airport systems/equipment/facilities.
Special Requirements
Alberta or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Plumber and Gasfitter are required.
Gas A ticket and 4th Class Power Engineering certificate considered an asset.
Experience in building maintenance is considered an asset.
Knowledge of HVAC systems is an asset.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must have effective oral and written communication skills and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Must have strong organizational skills including ability to identify and adjust to changing. priorities, along with effective time management.
Proven safety leadership and adherence to safe work practices are required.
Must have valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent).
Airport Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) is required.
Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal record check is required.
Ability to work indoors or outdoors, with considerable standing, climbing, and kneeling as required.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment (up to 50lbs) using proper lifting techniques.
