We are looking for a Switchboard Operator to join our Front Desk team here at the Renaissance!

This position is a permanent full time position and pays $16.50 an hour for a minimum of 32 hours a week

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will create relationships with the guests that lead to Renaissance and property loyalty. This individual serves as the main point of contact for all guest requests and needs. The DTS Agent is responsible for answering calls, recording the guests request and then pursuing the issue to a resolution. The DTS Agent must exhibit courteous hospitality at all times and fully own each guest issue. When in communication with the guest, the DTS Agent must be proactive in every area, including offering additional services. Most importantly, the DTS agent must coordinate the response to the guest issue and then follow-up with the guest to ensure satisfaction with the result.

Have knowledge of hotel, hotel staff and hotel services, including the hours of operation for all departments involved and in the surrounding areas; has a thorough knowledge of guestrooms including: locations, views, amenities, features, types, etc.
Offers the hotel guests the best possible service through courteous and proper phone answering procedures.
Is a hotel ambassador by promoting the hotel, restaurant, lounge, gift shops, etc.
Understands various payment options, procedures of Room Service and the ability to up-sell.
Able to give accurate directions and information regarding the immediate and metro area.
Handle wakeup call request and ensuring request are met in a professional and timely manner according to Brand Standard.
Handle all emergencies according to established procedures
Ensure that all customer complaints are recorded in the GUESTWARE and incident log book in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure that all guests who experience a problem receive an appropriate response, any promised compensation is delivered and an appropriate follow-up in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure all individuals designated for follow-up in the Manager on Duty report are copied on the report and any other pertinent information available.
Expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management of which the associate is capable of performing.
Handles mail and messages per outlined procedures
Attends all scheduled department meetings
Maintains cleanliness and neatness of work area
Is familiar with and follows all hotel safety and accident prevention procedures.

Special Requirements

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Must have prior customer service experience (hotel preferred) Must have exceptional communication skills including verbal and written in English. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.

Ability to multi-task and handle multiple transactions at one time.

Ability to operate a switch board phone. Must present a professional appearance, representing the R Image Standard. Flexible availability including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Knowledge of FSPMS, MARSHA, MICROS or GUESTWARE an asset.
