Reporting to the Director, Corporate & Digital Communication, the Senior Communication Campaign Advisor’s focus is on facilitating, planning and executing effective communications strategies and campaigns that build specifically on our corporate profile and reputation within our community, our region, and the globe. The role will focus on highlighting all the great initiatives that our airport has done and is doing. The role will extend and build on a narrative after an initial public announcement and a news release. This work strategically positions our company as global leaders, trailblazers, a valuable future partner to businesses and ‘an airport to be proud of’ within our community.

The Senior Communications Campaign Advisor is a well-established public relations generalist who knows how to plan and execute effective communications campaigns and build strong relationships with internal and external clients. This position provides strategic communications advice and broad-based corporate communications support and services to all levels of the Edmonton Airports’ organization.

You might be wondering what you can expect in a typical day at work. Every day will bring new opportunities, focusing on key responsibilities, including:
• Build comprehensive multi-platform campaigns following media events and announcements to continue to ‘tell the story’ and build on the narrative of the initial news release to the public
• Write key messages for the campaigns and work in partnership with the social team to consider audience targets and most optimal engagement on social media
• Consider stakeholder engagement and how to engage their interests in our airport and doing business with YEG
• Work in partnership with corporate communications media relations role to align on the messaging and seamlessly connect the messaging from the announcement to the ongoing campaign messaging
• Provide overall support to the Corporate & Digital Communications team through writing communication strategic plans, key messages, speaking notes and more

Special Requirements

• A degree in a related discipline with minimum 5 years of marketing or communications experience is required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• The successful candidate will have superb writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to write a wide variety of communications tools, including news releases, speeches, briefing documents, successful campaigns and key messages.
• Must have the ability to research, distil and convey complex information clearly and efficiently.
• Strong strategic thinking and communications campaign planning skills are required.
• Will have an understanding of online communications strategy and tool development, and experience with web content management systems.
• Excellent negotiation and consensus-building prowess with a wide range of staff including senior management, external stakeholders and service providers are required.
• Will have excellent project management, time management and organizational skills.
• The ideal candidate will have superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and relate effectively with all levels of stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Sound judgment, common sense and experience in decision-making are required.
• Incumbent will be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects with strong follow-through.
• Must have the proven ability to thrive in a tight deadline environment where priorities shift frequently.
• An unwavering commitment to protecting privacy and exercising discretion with confidential information is required.
• Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal record check is required.
