Is This Role for You?
Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, the People & Culture Student is a member of the Human Resources team and will provide a valuable support role and enhance the employee experience through the creation and enhancement of a skills and certifications inventory within our HRIS system. The People & Culture student will also augment the team and support our customer service mandate through responses to employee inquiries, administration of employee life cycle processes, and direct coordination for HR programs/inquiries.
Day in The Life
You might be wondering what you can expect in a typical day at work. Every day will bring new opportunities, focusing on key responsibilities, including:
• Enhance the employee experience by providing exceptional first line customer service to the EA team
• Identify and meet with key internal stakeholders related to skills and certifications inventory project to gather requirements and manage current vs future state expectations
• Develop HRIS system to support skills and certifications inventory that will provide a centralised resource to manage training records with the outcomes of reducing manual processes and enhancing efficiencies and effectiveness
• Support continuous learning in the organisation by ensuring interesting and relevant e-learning content, aligned with business objectives, is available to employees through the HRIS
• Update and revise various HR related documents such as training manuals, onboarding guides, policies, job descriptions, etc.
• Support our HRIS system by organizing payroll documents in the system & ensure data is accurately entered
• Support a seamless onboarding experience for our new hires through research, organization, planning and administration tasks
• Enhance the effectiveness of recruitment processes by providing direct administrative support in recruitment activities, including creation and advertising of postings, resume screening, pre-screening candidates, coordination of interviews, and reference checks
• Coordinate activities related to Human Resources programs (Applause, Care Packages, Volunteering, Years of Service, etc.)
• Research and proposal of best practices for the employee experience
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Special Requirements
You Have:
• University or College Certificate or Diploma, preferably in business specializing in Human Resources, Business or equivalent
• Pursuing the CPHR designation would be considered an asset
• General knowledge of Human Resources practices would be considered an asset
• MS Office proficiency; particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented with the ability to take initiative
• Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and an acceptable criminal record check
• Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and demonstrates commitment to privacy and ethical conduct
