Project Coordinator (Term)

Description

The Project Coordinator supports Edmonton Airports, the Projects’ team, and Commercial Development in the delivery of projects. Working in the Projects Delivery team, the Project Coordinator is responsible to provide assistance, related to internal and external projects, during project planning, execution, and close-out with a focus on implementing new concessions-related projects in the terminal. Additionally, the Project Coordinator provides construction coordination, site inspection, and quality assurance services for the Projects team in the delivery of the Edmonton Airports Capital Program. Another important aspect of this role is assisting the Project Manager with consultants/contractors/EA stakeholders during project activities. The Project Coordinator also works closely with other internal stakeholders during the project lifecycle to assist the organization.

• Provide input to the Project Delivery plans and directions and ensure ongoing appropriate relationships with other positions.
• Ensure the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics related to quality, turnover and operational readiness.
• Provide input on project related issues during capital planning and project development to ensure that project activities and risks are appropriately accounted for.
• Advise on projects during design and execution by reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documents, and other associated documents.
• Provide project coordination between contractors and YEG partners by attending and running regular project construction meetings, alerting airport stakeholders/contractors of potential obstacles during construction, and assisting in the resolution of issues.
• Support project construction by conducting field reviews, generating, and distributing project progress reports, alerting the project team of quality assurance issues, and initiating, coordinating, and facilitating appropriate inspections for quality assurance and close out.
• Support the Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) process by reviewing and providing input on external projects; confirm adherence of FAP conditions on site through field reviews and providing liaison services to support tenant FAP projects.
• Support the organization with the collection of site installation data during project turnover and supporting the conduct of condition assessments.

Special Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution, preferably engineering or architecture, or journeyman/red seal, along with two or more years of relevant experience. A combination of experience/education demonstrating proficiency for this position may be considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Working knowledge of project management techniques and project management software.
• A PMP or CAPM is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, engineering drawings, specifications and other documentation.
• Strong computer skills (window-based applications, spreadsheets, WP, MS Access).
• Knowledge of quality control, assurance and inspection techniques.
• Ability to prioritize and have strong decision-making skills.
• Must secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal records check.
